OCEAN SAFARI WITH A CULTURAL FLARE- FULL DAY

7:15 am pickup.

Travel through the city to the Harbor, visit St.Croix, Jahleel and Brenton Islands. View the largest breading colony of threatened African Penguins anywhere in the world. The cruise is followed by lunch with a local artisan & warehouse market.

Travel towards the subburb of Walmer and Mohair South Africa headquarters. Participate in an informative presentation on mohair production. A city tour rounds off the morning, followed by lunch. Meet local artisans & visit a warehouse market.

Come and join our Nature Guide on a discovery of all the different species encountered along this coastline's special hiking trails and nature reserves. Learn about our indigenous floral wealth and its traditional uses.

Birding experience with Andy Nixon

A unique experience along the Bay's coastline.Pick up from your hotel/guesthouse/Werk_ in a tuk tuk at 08:00 and drive along the coast line, discovering all the blue flag beaches and rich coastal history of the Bay.  Drive up to the point where the famous lighthouse is located, a great photographic opportunity and walk to the point for some exciting bird spotting oppertunities.

Roseate Tern, Antarctic Tern, Damara Tern. Bridled Tern Sooty Tern, Bar-tailed Godwit, Red Knot, Lesser Black-backed Gull Cape Gannets , Subantarctic Skuas, Red-footed Booby

On the way back, you can stop off at SANCCOB penguin rescue station.

Travel towards New Brighton exploring the rich cultural history of the local people.

Nature hike with Graeme Pienaar

A unique experience along the Bay's coastline. Pick up from your hotel/guesthouse/Werk_ in a tuk tuk at 08:00 and drive along the coast line, discovering all the blue flag beaches and rich coastal history of the Bay.  Drive up to the point where the famous lighthouse is located, South Africa’s third oldest Lighthouse and a great photographic opportunity. Diverse coastal fynbos and St. Francis dune thicket flora finds its home amongst the natural dune vegetation and rocky outcrops which form part of this protected reserve. Discover abundant wetland and coastal birdlife. 

On the way back, you can stop off at SANCCOB penguin rescue station.

Share the Bay - Out and about tour

Visit 3 blue Flag beaches along our pristine beachfront before taking you into the Cape Recife Wildlife Sanctuary, where you can delight in natural wonders and beautiful coastline. We also visit SANCOBB Penguin Rehabilitation Centre. Further into the wildlife sanctuary we stop at the famous Cape Recife Lighthouse and point. An opportunity to take pictures at this beautiful destination will be available before heading back to the Pine Lodge Resort for a delicious meal (at own cost) at their popular Ziggy’s Restaurant which boasts breath-taking views of the Indian Ocean.
